Study reveals both good and bad news for residential energy use
A recent study commissioned by the Australian Government, Energy Use in the Australian Residential Sector 1986-2020, forecasts the energy consumption of Australian homes. While overall energy consumption in the residential sector is projected to dramatically increase by 2020, the study also reveals that the energy use per household is expected to decline.

City of Perth makes the switch to CitySwitch
The 1.3 million square metres of commercial office space in Perth’s CBD are about to become ‘greener’ with the City of Perth recently joining the national CitySwitch Green Office program which works with office tenants to achieve improved energy efficiency and reduce harmful CO2 emissions.

Funding for green buildings and re-tooling for climate change now open for business
As part of the $240 million Clean Business Australia initiative, the Federal Government has recently launched the Retooling for Climate Change program and the Green Building Fund. Both programs are now open for applications.

A Seminar Resource for your Community
The Sustainable Energy Community Seminar Kit is now available for use by local government and community groups to promote understanding of energy efficiency and renewable energy use in the community.

Opening of first 4.5 star ABGR office building outside Perth CBD
A new office building in Osborne Park has not only been designed to accommodate the needs of a large company but it was also built with a commitment for a 4.5 star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) (now known as NABERS Energy), making it the first of its kind outside Perth’s CBD.
