Energy Ratings For Windows
Are you thinking of building or renovating or know of someone who is? If so, you may not know that a significant proportion of heat from your home can be lost through windows in winter and gained in summer. Correct window positioning, sizing, shading and treatments will all help to reduce this problem. Another option to consider is the use of high thermal performance windows and the Windows Energy Rating Scheme will help you do just that. The Windows Energy Rating Scheme is an independent 5-star rating system that ranks windows in terms of their annual energy impact on a house.

Renewable Energy - The Way Of The Future
Renewable energy is the way of the future. Australia has many renewable energy sources - the sun, wind, solar, water, bioenergy - which can be used to generate electricity. These energy sources are also abundant, clean and safe and do not produce greenhouse gases. Renewable energy production, a practice that reduces Australian greenhouse gas emissions by thousands of tonnes every year, has been honoured in a stamp issue released recently by Australia Post. The four stamps celebrate the diversity of Australia's renewable energy through the sustainable sources of the sun, wind, water and organic matter.

Sustainable Energy Expo
The first Sustainable Energy Expo in Western Australia is being held next month as part of the Master Builders Association Building HomeStyle Show. The expo is being run in conjunction with the show to allow suppliers of sustainable energy products and services face-to-face contact with consumers who otherwise may not consider or be aware of sustainable energy options. If you are part of the sustainable energy industry and would like direct access to consumers in a mainstream environment, limited stands are still available.
