Lighting the way
Street lighting is essential for safety, both of pedestrians and road users, but it is also a significant consumer of electricity, resulting in high levels of greenhouse gas emissions. To help councils increase the energy efficiency of street lighting on minor roads, the Australian Greenhouse Office has released a new guide entitled Lighting the Way. The Guide complements the recent work undertaken in WA on street lighting.
